[great question. actually email addresses are the primary ingredient of spam. ordinary people could not have email accounts at all, if you remember, until spam was less popular. (this is why the only other place you saw the @ was @ the grocery store.)
now that there is a more severe economic downturn, and people are starting to eat virtual food again, the commodity price of email is rising and basically, hormel pwns me.
